Building a better tomorrow, together with Earth Day Canada
Aviva Canada is taking action on climate change and helping to build stronger, more resilient communities by investing in public charging stations.
That’s why we worked with Earth Day Canada to create Charged for Change, a program that will fund public electric vehicle (EV) charging installations in communities across Canada with limited or no access to EV infrastructure. Starting in 2023, over 3 years, we will be investing a total of $3 million — $1 million every year — to help Canadian communities in their transition to electric mobility.
Investing in a more sustainable future
The need for funding charging infrastructure
Making the transition to EVs is an important component of the global strategy to fight climate change and create a better, more sustainable world for all of us. However, the infrastructure required to support this change can be cost prohibitive for many communities.
Why invest in EV charging stations?
We know that the availability of charging infrastructure is a deciding factor for Canadians considering the purchase of an EV. Aviva will provide necessary funding to communities with limited or no access to public EV infrastructure across Canada, helping to remove a key barrier they face in getting EV infrastructure up and running. With Earth Day Canada, Aviva is accelerating the widespread adoption of EVs across the country.
