Aviva Canada donates $75,000 to Canadians impacted by extreme weather
Supporting the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts for those impacted by tornado and wildfires
October 1, 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Following extreme weather in Ontario and British Columbia, Aviva Canada is responding to appeals from the Canadian Red Cross and donating $50,000 for the Ottawa / Gatineau tornado and will double match all employee donations (up to $250 per employee). Aviva is also providing a $25,000 donation to the Red Cross’ BC Fires Appeal to support with ongoing recovery efforts from the 2,000+ wildfires that burned this year in the province.
"When natural disasters tear apart the personal belongings and treasures that individuals hold dear, the Canadian Red Cross is a trusted partner that helps to rebuild lives. We empathize with those that have suffered a loss, and support the relief and recovery efforts currently underway,” said Colm Holmes, Chief Executive Officer and President of Aviva Canada. “We remain committed to working with our customers in these devastated areas to get them back into their homes and businesses,” he concluded.
