Aviva Canada posts half-year 2023 results

August 16, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - Insurer Aviva plc reported its half-year 2023 results today. Jason Storah, CEO of Aviva Canada had this to say about the Canadian performance:

“Aviva Canada has consistently delivered a strong set of results, achieving a HY23 Combined Operating Ratio (COR*) of 92.8% (HY22: 91.8%) and premium growth of 11% (HY22: 6%).

Across the country, Canadians and businesses continue to be impacted by severe weather events. In Ontario, vehicles are being stolen at an alarming rate. With driving patterns returning to pre-pandemic levels, we are seeing increased claims frequency and inflation. Our people are focused on being there for our customers, brokers and partners and supporting them when they need us most.”
