Aviva Canada welcomes Chair designate and new board member

July 25, 2024 (TORONTO, ON) – Aviva Canada has appointed Thomas Neil Morrison and Carol Jardine as Independent Non-Executive Directors to the Aviva Canada Board starting July 25. Morrison has also been appointed Chair designate, and will take over from current Board Chair Anne Marie O’Donovan next year.

Morrison was also appointed to the Aviva plc Board on June 17, 2024. He has over 38 years of experience in the Canadian insurance industry, most recently as Managing Partner and Chair of Platform Insurance Management Inc., one of Canada’s fastest growing insurance brokers. Currently chair of BOXX Insurance Inc., Morrison formerly held executive roles with Hub International Limited (US, Canada, Brazil & Caribbean).

Jardine, too, has extensive Canadian insurance experience. Formerly President of Wawanesa’s Canadian Property & Casualty Operations and Executive Vice President of Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, she’s held numerous senior leadership roles across the insurance industry and is currently a member of Tarion’s Board. In this role, Carol will be a member of the Risk, Audit and Governance, Conduct & Compliance Committees of the Aviva Canada Board, replacing Bill Bloom who will be stepping down effective today.
